Eva Mendes says her enviable body is the result of "consistent hard work". The Hollywood actress is famed for her gorgeous curves, but says her toned physique is the product of a dedicated exercise routine. Mendes tries to work out as much as she can - even fitting it in around her filming schedules.

"I'm not naturally slim but I work out hard and I am consistent. It can be difficult fitting in exercise when I'm on location as there just isn't time, but I always try to do a shortened version of my usual routine," she told Health & Beauty magazine.

"I exercise at least five days a week; I love to run and I mix it up with light weights and squats. I also do yoga twice a week to stretch my body. Plus, it helps with my posture and relaxes my mind."Mendes always sports a beautiful glowing complexion. The 37-year-old star credits her healthy look to a carefully crafted routine.

"I never cared about exercise or what I was eating until I reached my 20s and then I started eating well and going from drinking no water to up to three litres a day," she revealed. "I really believe in the beauty philosophy of starting from within now; it's kind of changed my life."

With her pretty brown and white polka dot dress and matching cardigan, it looked like Eva Mendes was channelling her inner fifties movie star today. The 37-year-old actress looked stylish as she ran errands in Beverly Hills earlier today.

A pair of light grey wedge heels and blue tinted glasses completed the look. With her hair pulled up into a neat ponytail and wearing minimal make-up, the actress remained focused on her mobile phone conversation. But there was no sign of her current beau Ryan Gosling, her co-star in the upcoming crime drama, The Place Beyond the Pines.

The film, which also stars Bradley Cooper, is just one of three movies Eva has coming out this year.
In April, she will appear in low budget comedy Girl in Progress, while she also stars alongside Kylie Minogue in Holly Motors, which she filmed in Paris. The film follows 24 hours in the life of a man travelling between different lives including a murderer, a beggar, a CEO and a father.

The trailer for Girl in Progress reveals that the film -- starring Eva Mendes as a struggling mother of a teenage daughter -- will raise the question of who is actually the parent and who is the child. Mendes’ character seems to be in more trouble than her young daughter (played by Cierra Ramirez). She’s sleeping with a married man, falling behind on her bills and neglecting her 13-year-old daughter. “A coming of age story is the story of a young person’s change from child to adult,” says a teacher in the trailer. As Mendes’ character’s actions become more unstable and erratic, her daughter is forced to grow up and find her independence.

The Pantelion Films movie, directed by Patricia Riggen, also stars Matthew Modine, Patricia Arquette and Eugenio Derbez. It will open in theaters on April 27.

Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes stepped out together in September and they've made it to 2012! The couple jetted from L.A. to NYC Friday and over the weekend the actor introduced his new gal to his mom, Donna.

The three went to the movies in Manhattan over the weekend and sources say they all had a blast. And, unnamed insiders say the stars are totally smitten. "They kept kissing and hugging while they waited to board their flight. Eva looked gorgeous and kept smiling," the source at LAX told People.com.

Now, it's unclear how the pair celebrated on New Year's Eve, but we're guessing they spent a quiet evening together. They were seen leaving their hotel early in the evening, and both seemed dressed up but not for a night of partying. We imagine their NYE plans were on the sophisticated, romantic side. Eva Mendes thinks it's important to 'play up the positives' when it comes to appearances.  The Hollywood star believes her fellow actresses should just appreciate how they look rather than boast about not having worked on their image because there are plenty of people who 'struggle' with the way they look.

She said: 'I'm not one of those actresses who says they don't work at the way they look. 'Even if it's true, you shouldn't say it, as there are so many people who struggle with their appearance. It's important to appreciate what you've got.

'We all have strengths and weaknesses, but it's about playing up the positives.'The 37-year-old beauty bases her style partly on her favourite icons, such as 1950s actress Sophie Loren and 1960s actress Romy Scheider, as well as her preferred eras.

She added to Britain's InStyle magazine: 'I love to embrace my favourite eras and icons, like Sophia Loren, Romy Schneider and Capucine. Eva recently admitted she was 'flattered' to become the new face of Thierry Mulger and follow in the footsteps of Jerry Hall and Naomi Watts.
 
She explained: 'I admire Thierry Mugler. He knows how to make a woman feel beautiful. 'It was flattering to be asked to be the new face of Thierry Mulger's Angel - I'm following in the footsteps of Jerry Hall and Naomi Watts! Eva Mendes kicked off the New Year by winning over Ryan Gosling’s mother. The actress, who began dating Gosling after the two co-starred in the film “The Place Beyond the Pines” this past summer, met up with the mother-son duo Sunday after they were spotted spending some quality time together in New York.

"They all hung out and went to the movies together," a source told People of the get-together at an AMC movie theater in uptown Manhattan. "Ryan and Eva seemed very happy."Dating since September, the couple appears to be getting serious as this is believed to be the first time Gosling has introduced Mendes to his family.

It’s a big move for the Canadian heartthrob, who recently boasted about being raised by his mother in a single-parent home. "I think like a girl,” Gosling, 31, told The Independent. “I was literally raised by my mother and my sister. And I just feel like I wouldn't know how to think any other way … My sister was my best friend and my hero growing up. Because I was home-schooled I didn't have a lot of friends and I did ballet, which was always just girls. All of that had an effect on my brain."

Now that Mendes,37, is the main woman in Gosling’s life, the couple has been having a difficult time hiding their blossoming romance. After witnesses watched the pair “kissing and hugging” before boarding their flight to New York from L.A. on Friday, Mendes and Gosling continued their PDA streak when they were spotted leaving the Bowery Hotel together on New Year’s Eve.  "While they waited for a cab outside the hotel, they kept kissing," an onlooker told People. "They both looked very happy."

Eva Mendes loves to be "surrounded by scent". The actress is the new face of Thierry Mugler's perfume Angel. The brunette beauty admitted that she never goes out without some kind of fragrance on.

"I spray my perfume in front of me to create a cloud that I can walk into," she explained to Hello! magazine. "It's a fantastic way to be lightly but surely surrounded by the scent. I also dab it on the inner sides of my wrists, elbows, knees - the parts of my body that are constantly in motion - so that each time I make a move, my fragrance is spread.

Eva follows in the footsteps of classic beauties such as Jerry Hall and Naomi Watts by starring in the designer's new campaign. She was honoured to be asked to represent the brand. "It is very flattering to be asked to be the muse for a fragrance," she smiled. "Especially for a classic like Angel - the embodiment of the true femme fatale."

Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes get cozy in bed in a new, Christmas-themed episode of the popular "Drunk History" online series. The two have been linked romantically since September but have not addressed the rumors publicly. In the clip, posted on FunnyOrDie.com and titled "Drunk History Christmas," they play a couple and mouth the words of comedian Allan McLeod as he recites the 1823 poem "The Night Before Christmas" while intoxicated.

The clip shows Gosling and Mendes wearing Christmas-themed outfits while lying in a bed. It also features Jim Carrey as Santa Claus. "Drunk History" debuted in 2007 and was founded by actor Will Ferrell. Previous episodes have featured John C. Reilly, Michael Cera and Danny McBride.

Gosling and Mendes filmed the crime thriller "The Place Beyond the Pines" during the summer. The movie also features Bradley Cooper and Rose Byrne and is set for release in 2012. The movie is about a motorcycle stunt rider who considers turning to crime in order to provide for his wife and child. Rubbing salt in many female fans’ heartbroken wounds, Mendes cozies up to real-life boyfriend Gosling in bed as the two play a married couple to two children. Gosling takes the opportunity to show off his comedic chops, first seen in this summer’s hit “Crazy, Stupid, Love,” opposite Carrey, who plays Santa Claus. Despite the foul-mouthed reading, the Hollywood trio are doing their best to spread holiday cheer.
