The actress was hardly recognisable as she toned down the glamour at Vancouver International Airport. Mendes was flying from Canada back to Los Angeles after filming scenes for her upcoming movie Ansiedad.

The 37-year-old Hitch star dressed down in a plain floral smock dress over black tights and patent leather ankle boots. She kept warm in an oversized green knit cardigan and accessoried with a beige leather handbag and tortoiseshell sunglasses. Her look was a far cry from her usual smouldering beauty that has been exploited in risqué Calvin Klein adverts that see her oiled up and half naked.

She models for both Calvin Klein’s lingerie range as well as their clothing collection. But perhaps the Cuban-American actress is trying to tone down her overtly sexual style and become a more modest dresser. Eva is also the new face of Thierry Mugler’s Angel fragrance and has recetnly been made an ambassador for Reebok EastyTone trainers amidst her successful film career. She is currently filming Ansiedad, which sees a neglected 13-year-old look to a teen rite-of-passage as a way of changing her life. And her name has also been thrown around amidst rumours of a remake of Total Recall.

The 1990 Paul Verhoeven film, which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sharon Stone is said to be casting Colin Farrell as the leading man. While Eva has apparently been discussed to take the role of Melina, who was played by Rachel Ticotin in the original.
