Eva Mendes might not have Total Recall but it looks like life will be interesting in The Place Beyond the Pines, according to the latest from Collider. Mendes is joining Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper in the multi-generational crime drama being directed by Derek Cianfrance (Blue Valentine).

The movie follows the consequences of a showdown between a biker-turned-bank-robber (Gosling) and a cop-turned-politician (Cooper). Mendes plays Gosling’s love interest and the mother of his child.
Cianfrance is teaming up with the Blue Valentine gang again, as Lynette Howell, Alex Orlovsky, and Jamie Patricof, along with Sidney Kimmel Entertainment, are set to produce the project. Jim Tauber and Matt Berenson will be executive producers.
The Place Beyond the Pines is scheduled to start production next month so a couple of the stars won’t have to worry about being bored in the near future. In addition to Pines, Gosling also has Logan’s Run and The Ides of March on his schedule and Bradley Cooper might be taking a devilish turn in Paradise Lost as well as possibly landing the lead in The Crow.
