She's one of the most beautiful women in the world and has won praise for her unstarry, down-to-earth, nature. But Eva Mendes was clouds above the rest of New York on Thursday night when she stepped out as the exciting new face of Thierry Mugler's Angel perfume. Arriving at the IAC Centre in Manhattan, the gorgeous Hitch actress turned heads on the red carpet in a strapless, white Thierry Mugler-designed dress, teamed with a silver pair of Sobek Christian Louboutin peep-toe heels.
The stunning pearl gown, with it's tiny silver detailing on the hip, was the perfect wardrobe choice for her attendance as the 'new face' of the iconic fragrance. Accessorising with a beautiful, silver bracelet and earrings, it quickly became apparent as to why the French designer had set his sights on Eva, 37, as the fresh, new face of his globally renowned fragrance. And it would seem his former choice of Angel brand-ambassador, Naomi Watts, was right behind him.
The former-face of the fragrance was on hand to pass over the baton and lend her support to Eva as she took on her new role. And the blonde King Kong star showed what a good sport she was when she joined Eva on the red carpet and proved there were definitely no hard feelings as she laughed and joked with her beautiful replacement. Where some Hollywood beauties may have snapped up the opportunity to try and upstage Eva in the style-stakes, Naomi, 41, was the perfect guest and arrived in an understated, yet sophisticated, black trouser suit.
Naomi, who now lives in New York with her family, dropped by to wish Eva well, and was seen sharing a joke with her old friend, Thierry Mugler. Unlike Naomi, Eva had much further to come to attend the event.
The star had jetted into the Big Apple from Los Angeles the previous day and was seen busily racing across the city from one business meeting to the next.
Dressed in an equally angelic white dress, teamed with a gold pair of hooped earring and quirky, purple sunglasses, Eva looked effortlessly stylish as she left her New York hotel on Wednesday. There is much excitement surrounding Eva's forthcoming ad campaign for the Thierry Mugler fragrance after it was revealed that the actress will sing with an orchestra in the TV commercial which is set to air this coming September.
