It was meant to be Melanie Brown's husband's big night - the star-studded Los Angeles premiere of his new film. But knowing she would be sharing the red carpet with the likes of Eva Mendes and Charlize Theron, the Spice Girl knew she would have to go the extra mile to get attention.
And as she arrived with her husband, the producer Stephen Belafonte, there was no doubt everyone was looking at her. Her black satin dress was so short onlookers were left wondering if it was actually a top - and she had simply forgotten the matching trousers.
Mel B accompanied Belafonte to the AFI Festival screening of Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans. After her Ultimo modelling contract recently came to an end, she is considering a number of projects. And while she makes a decision, what better way to attract potential employment by showing off her fabulous legs?
She and Belafonte have spent the past two months in her native Britain. As well as becoming a regular on red carpets in London, Mel B has also been promoting the ITV documentary Seven Days On The Breadline, which she filmed earlier this year.
The show followed Mel, Trinny Woodall, Austin Healy and Keith Allen as they spent a week living with low-income families who survive on benefits. After the Spice Girls reunion tour was dramatically cut short in February 2008, Mel has been teasing fans the girl group may get together again. She said: 'We will be doing something together very soon.
My lips are sealed.'However, bandmate Melanie Chisholm contradicted her: ''We were just catching up, there was no business talk. There are no plans to do anything.
Mel B does have plans to make another workout DVD following the success of her Totally Fit fitness collection last year. She said: 'Of course there are plans to release another fitness DVD. We are just in the middle of negotiations right now.'
