Eva Mendes In Variety Awards: Eva Mendes, Jennifer Garner and Katie Holmes will be honoured at the 2010 Variety Power of Women awards. The lunchtime event, which is scheduled to take place in Beverly Hills later this month, pays tribute to the philanthropic endeavours of women in Hollywood.

According to Variety, Mendes is being recognised for her work with the Art of Elysium organisation, which encourages artists to spend time with seriously ill children.

Garner has done lots of work with Save the Children, while Holmes set up the Dizzy Feet Foundation in 2009 to help underprivileged people in the US become professional dancers. Other stars such as Amy Adams, Natalie Portman and Diane Lane will also be mentioned.
